A true gift |

Hi Christoph,
I am a psychiatrist and neuroscience researcher who has had a passionate love of physics since high school.
Feynman's LECTURES IN PHYSICS has always been my favorite beginning text. Now comes MOTION MOUNTAIN, and at last Feynman's lonely top-shelf text has a companion!
You have given us all a tremendous gift. It DOES clarify, and it DOES strengthen. In addition to all you have taught about physics, I believe your work is one of the best realizations of how we shall better cast organized information across the Internet. Books are a very static form, slow to change, always behind what is current. But your book, utilizing Hypertext so well, begins to move us into a different kind of learning. And not incidentally, reclaims the role of teacher.
I look forward to continuing with your work for a long time!
With warm regards,
HenriCS: Thank you for your kind words, and enjoy the reading!

Hi Christoph,
-Where can I find the additions in your last (januari 2010) version of volume 6? I just printed a hardcopy to study it and hen you change it :( :) -You stopped the discussion on Physics Forum. Reason?
Kind regards, BerlinCS: I post updates of the 6th volume regularly - check the edition number on page 3. If you have more questions about the model, you are welcome to add them at the suggestion wiki (see the menu on the left) in the fun discussion page or to email.

I appreciate your making the physics text(s) available online. My job demands won't allow for college attendance and I am really interested in learning physics.
Thank you for your help, Jerry jerry.swatsell@kurarayamerica.comCS: Enjoy it - and feel free to email questions.

Great strand model |

Dear Christoph,
I have just read all of volume 6 (edition 23.66) and learned for the first time about your Strand model. I love it.
I had heard the names of some of the elementary particles before, but I didn't really have much idea what they all were (I haven't read the earlier volumes yet). Now I have got a picture in my head of what they all are -- and all the forces too.
It will be exiting watching to see if experiments confirm the model. I'm going to read the whole textbook from front to back next so that I understand everything more thoroughly.CS: Enjoy it!

great book! I had a fun time reading it(well the first few chapters). I'm glad that some one made this knowledge free to the public. not every body can afford text books that cost hundreds of dollars.
